We have included these notes to give you some information on how to use and to help you make the most of your frozen organic wheatgrass juice. Enjoy and thrive!

How do I use my frozen wheatgrass juice?

Take 1 or 2 cubes (or more if required) from the freezer bag and put them in a glass containing vegetable, pear or other preferred juice or water. Stir continuously for a minute or two to thaw, and then drink immediately. If you prefer to drink it neat, defrosting the cubes by themselves, defrosting will take longer.

The green chlorophyll present in wheatgrass juice does separate from the liquid during thawing and the flavour may be slightly different to fresh juice.

Gentle stirring will mix them back together, prior to drinking.

New users please note: If you have not tasted Wheatgrass juice before, it is an acquired taste, as it is has a strong and sweet flavour that some people find they need time to adjust to. We recommend you first try a smaller amount of the Wheatgrass juice and gradually build up.

Keep covered at room temperature for 3 days, watering once/twice a day keeping the compost moist, as it is important to keep the seeds moist during germination, but do not over water.

How much do I need to drink?

2 cubes will yield one daily helping of 30ml (1 fluid ounce or about 2 tablespoonfuls). This should be plenty for maintaining that ‘bright eyed, bushy tailed’ look that wheatgrass juice is justly famous for. If you are on a special healing regime your practitioner may advocate gradually increasing this dose, in some cases up to 2x60ml daily.

Storage How long will my pack last?

Using 2 cubes per day it will last 16 days.

How long will it keep in the freezer?

The frozen cubes will keep up to 6 months when stored in your home freezer. Do not use after the best before date.

Does wheatgrass juice contain any gluten? Or pollen?

No, neither.

What if I don’t like the flavour?

Some enjoy their wheatgrass thawed in water, but if you find the flavour too strong, try mixing it with other fresh juices such carrot, apple, pear or pineapple, or with other green drinks, or even mix with a salad dressing. The sharpness of grapefruit juice suits wheatgrass well, and I particularly like it thawed into tomato juice (although the colour is not the best!). Avoid mixing it with orange juice as this may be too acidic.

For those on special healing regimes please seek advice from your practitioner on which juices are suitable mixers.

Although it is generally recommended to take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach you could also try taking it last thing at night to prevent it ‘repeating’ on you.

Why is wheatgrass so powerful?

Wheatgrass is often referred to as a green superfood by Natural Health experts as it has exceptional nutritional properties. Wheatgrass is powerful because it is full of chlorophyll and phytonutrients. Once the wheat grain has germinated, it harnesses the energy of the sun and transforms it in the process we know as photosynthesis. The electrons in cells called chloroplasts are excited by sunlight. In this way they are charged with energy, which is stored as chlorophyll.

How can Wheatgrass benefit me?

Wheatgrass juice has:

  • an abundance of fresh, raw chlorophyll
  • a broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals, including many trace minerals and is a vegetable source of Vitamin B12

A daily ‘shot’ boosts our well-being and vitality.

If you find the flavour too strong, try mixing it with water or fresh organic fruit or vegetable juices, such as pear, apple, lemon, pineapple or carrot juice. It is not recommended to use orange juice as a mixer with Wheatgrass.
